2. Authorship and Ethical Standards
2.1. Authorship Criteria (ICMJE & CRediT)
Authorship is based on the four ICMJE criteria. All authors must have substantially contributed to the work, drafted or revised it critically, approved the final version, and agreed to be accountable for all aspects of the study. Authors must declare their specific contributions using the CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) in the Title Page.
2.2. Generative AI Policy
Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and Large Language Models (LLMs) do not qualify for authorship. If AI tools were used for language editing, data analysis, or drafting, their use must be explicitly disclosed in the Declarations section. AI must not be used to fabricate data, images, or citations.
2.3. Ethical Approvals and Informed Consent
All studies involving human subjects, medical records, or animal models must obtain prior approval from a recognized institutional ethics committee. The ethical approval code must be stated in the Methods section. For Case Reports and clinical images, written informed consent for publication must be obtained from the patient and submitted to the journal.
3. Manuscript Preparation
To ensure a rigorous double-blind peer review, authors must submit their manuscript in two separate Microsoft Word files (.doc or .docx). Text should be typed in Times New Roman, 12 pt, double-spaced, with continuous line numbers.
File 1: Title Page (With Identity)
- Full article title and running title (max 50 characters).
- Full names, institutional affiliations, and ORCID iDs for all authors.
- Corresponding author’s full contact details.
- Word count, table/figure count.
- CRediT authorship statement.
- Declarations (Funding, COI, Ethics, AI Use).
- Acknowledgments.
File 2: Blinded Manuscript (No Identity)
- Title and Structured Abstract (max 250–300 words).
- Keywords (3-6 MeSH terms).
- Main Text (Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion).
- References (Vancouver style).
- Tables and Figures legends.
- CRITICAL: Remove all author names, institutional affiliations, and identifying grant numbers from this file.
4. Manuscript Structure (IMRAD)
- Introduction: Provide the background, state the gap in the literature, and clearly define the study objectives/hypothesis.
- Materials and Methods: Detail the study design, sample selection, interventions, and statistical analyses with sufficient clarity to allow replication. Include the ethics approval statement (with the institution name anonymized in the blinded file).
- Results: Present findings logically using text, tables, and high-resolution figures (min 300 dpi). Do not duplicate data in tables and text. Report exact p-values and confidence intervals.
- Discussion: Interpret the findings against existing literature. Acknowledge the study's strengths and limitations.
- Conclusion: Provide a concise summary of the main outcomes and their clinical/scientific implications without overgeneralizing.
5. References
References must be formatted in Vancouver style. Citations in the text should be indicated by numerical superscripts in order of appearance. Prioritize recent, peer-reviewed journal articles. Ensure DOIs or URLs are provided where available. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of their citations.
6. Mandatory Declarations
The following statements must be included at the end of the Title Page:
- Conflicts of Interest: "The authors declare that they have no competing interests." (Or detail any financial/personal relationships).
- Funding: Disclose any grants, equipment, or financial support received for the study.
- Data Availability: State whether the raw data is available in a public repository (provide DOI/Link) or available upon reasonable request from the corresponding author.
- AI Disclosure: "No generative AI tools were used in the creation of this manuscript." (Or detail the tool, version, and exact application).
